How And What Can We Measure?

Since we only had two weeks before our Thanksgiving holiday, we decided to learn about a topic that a majority of the students were interested in... DINOSAURS! We had such an amazing week talking about why we measure and the importance of units when it comes to measurement. The students enjoyed measuring every thing under the sun using rulers, tape measures, cubes, rocks, circles, and dominoes! We ended the week with a gigantic bang by measuring a life sized TRICERATOPS! We even compared the size of the dinosaur to the size of a student and a teacher!
